Earlier this week, Toyota announced their intention to replace Jim Wiseman, the automaker’s chief communications officer for North America with Julie A. Hamp. Wiseman will be retiring at the end of June after a 23-year career in the industry. Julie Hamp will now have the primary responsibility of coordinating Toyota‘s public relations efforts in North America while leading the cross-affiliate communications team made up of members of Toyota Motor North America, Inc., Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc. and Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing, North America, Inc.
Hamp was hired from PepsiCo, where she was the communications officer and senior vice president of consumer relations. Before her role at PepsiCo, Hamp worked with General Motors in the marketing and brand communication arena.
“Julie is a proven communications leader with a wealth of knowledge and experience both inside and outside the automotive industry,” said Jim Lentz, senior VP of Toyota Motors America. “We are thrilled to have her leading our communications and public relations efforts to enhance and promote Toyota as we continue to gain momentum in the marketplace.”
