The 2013 Toyota RAV4

The Toyota RAV4 is credited with having launched the crossover utility craze.  Blending the parts of an SUV on top of the chassis built for a car, and you get a fuel-efficient SUV that is easy to maneuver and drives smoothly.  The new Toyota RAV4 in Irving has been upgraded this year, in order to create the best in available crossover SUVs.

The new RAV4 also has more options than ever before.  Toyota has expanded their electric options and now the 2013 Toyota RAV4 Electric has been unleashed.  The regular gas-fueled engine is powered by a pleasing four-cylinder which helps give the new RAV4 a fuel rating of 31 mpg for front-wheel-drive models and 29 for AWD models.

The exterior styling and overall interior has been updated as well.  You will find more technology, safety systems and convenience items than ever before.  The price has stayed fairly similar from last year’s, starting around $24K.

Charity of the Month: April

As we close another month, we move onto the next charitable organization and onto the next way to positively affect our community.

March was a fun and furry month. The Irving Animal Shelter was our Charity of the Month and we donated in a few different ways. Our Toyota of Irving team put together a Harlem Shake video and decided to donate $1 to the shelter for every view it received on YouTube. We also vowed to donate a dollar for every test drive performed at the dealership. With the views and test drives, the total adds up to $2,200!

For the month of April, we are overwhelmingly excited to be helping out Make-A-Wish of North Texas. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, it’s a non-profit organization that caters to children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 that are currently suffering from a life-threatening medical condition. Make-A-Wish brings hope, strength, and joy to these kids by granting their one true wish. The wishes must begin with “I wish to have,” “I wish to be,” “I wish to go,” or “I wish to meet.” The possibilities are endless and the memories that come from a wish are forever cherished.

For the month of April, Toyota of Irving is donating $2 for every oil change and $2 for each test drive. Be sure to stop by the dealership before April 30th to get your oil changed and to test drive the new 2013 Toyota Avalon or any other vehicle we have on our lot!

New Toyota Avalon Receives Exciting Changes

“Dynamic”, “Exciting”, “Emotional” and “Potent”. Powerful words with one thing in common, Toyota used them to describe it’s all-new 2013 Avalon. Normally that it wouldn’t be news that an auto maker was excited about a new version of one of it’s vehicles but in this case it’s a change of pace. The Toyota Avalon has been a huge hit by being the exact opposite of all those words. The Avalon was initially designed as an alternative to the classic All-American full size sedans of the time. Toyota did such a great job with original Avalon Design and other auto makers did such poor job of adapting and updating their models that the Avalon pretty much is in a class all it’s own now.

As excited as Toyota is about it’s new Avalon, Toyota of Irving is even more excited to sell the car to it’s future happy Avalon drivers. Historical and Modern Toyota and Toyota Concepts

Most production model Toyota vehicles become very popular, selling in the hundreds of thousands.  Like every automaker, however, Toyota has a history of some classic and recent vehicles that are more obscure than their current new Toyota Corolla in Irving or Toyota Tundra in Ft. Worth.  MotorTrend put together a list of ten of the coolest of these obscure Toyota vehicles.

The Toyota Mega Cruiser is on this list; a massive SUV that looks very similar to the Hummer, but in massive proportions.  Others on the list include the Toyota Publica from the 60′s, Toyota Sera with butterfly doors, a special edition Toyota Origin, Toyota Carina two-door hardtop, Toyota Towace minivan, the turbocharged Toyota Verossa, the Toyota Model AE commissioned by the Japanese government during WWII, the Toyota Mark X ZiO and the Toyota Cavalier.

You may not have heard of several of these vehicles, hence the “obscure” epithet.  Each one, though, was a work of art in its own way.

Charity of the Month: March

Spring is in the air! We are now ending our 7th Charity of the Month, and beginning our 8th.

For February, we went with the theme of the month and supported the American Heart Association. Toyota of Irving decided to donate $1 for each test drive performed at the dealership, $1 for each rental at our onsite Toyota Rent-A-Car, and $2 for each oil change performed in our service department. After all is said and done, the total adds up to $1,150.00 and we are excited to be able to donate that to a cause that affects so many people in our community.

Irving Animal Services is our Charity of the Month for March. Their mission is to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of Irving residents and animals. Not only do they partner with a full animal shelter, but they have a Field Services department that handles anything along the lines of animal cruelty, bites and dangerous dog cases. They strive to keep the Irving community safe from viscous animals, while rescuing animals at the same time.

For the month of March, Toyota of Irving will be donating $1 for each test drive performed to the Irving Animal Services. Also, we have created our very own Harlem Shake video. We will be donating $1 for each view our video receives by March 31st. Stop by and test drive the new 2013 Rav4 today!

Toyota Tops Dependability Survey

For decades, Toyota has been considered one of the most reliable automakers in the U.S. Their vehicles consistently make it to the top of lists created by J.D. Power & Associates® and Consumer Reports. They have the highest resale value of any non-luxury brand and need a lower amount of repairs.

In a recent study done by Consumer Reports, Toyota is still the company on top of their yearly Reliability Survey. This includes all brands manufactured by the Toyota Motor Co., which include Lexus and Scion brands. Now that Toyota has transfered the majority of its U.S.-sold vehicle manufacturing over to the U.S., there’s little that doesn’t recommend Toyota to the American people.

The new Toyota trucks in Irving are built in Texas, employing many of Texas’ residents. The auto company is well on its way to having 80% of its vehicles sold in the U.S. built in the U.S.

Toyota Tacoma Earns ‘Best Compact Truck for the Money’ Award

U.S. News, a trusted source for automotive reviews and ratings, recently released their awards for “2013 Best Car for the Money” in several categories. Plenty Toyota Motor Co. manufactured vehicles were named, and the Toyota brand swept the truck categories. Not only did the Toyota Tundra win as “Best Full-Size Pickup Truck for the Money,” but the Toyota Tacoma was named “Best Compact Pickup Truck for the Money.”

U.S. New judges each vehicle available in the U.S. in 21 different categories, depending on thousands of published reviews and test drives. The Toyota Motor Co. took five awards in several categories and the new Toyota Tacoma in Dallas/Ft. Worth is considered to provide the most “bang for your buck” of any compact truck available in the U.S.

The 2013 Toyota Sienna at Toyota of Irving
